FUS RO DAH! Yes you may recognize those words. How could the game not make the list? I don’t know many people who haven’t played it. Skyrim.

Whether you played as a Nord or Khajiit, this game had so much to do that you didn’t even need to follow the main quest if you didn’t want to. In fact, I don’t think I ever beat the main quests. I was having so much fun challenging the beats of this world and sneaking around. I of course used daggers and a bow. Maxing out my stealth and sneak attacks.
The world was massive compared to games I was used to. This was my first real open world game. More than once did I stumble upon an enemy I had little to no chance of beating, and I stood tall. Died like a man. I’d find myself wondering if I was high enough level for such a quest. However I didn’t let this top me from grabbing my finest blades and eating all the wheels of cheese to survive.
Eventually I moved to PC Skyrim to see how it was different. Holy cow, the mod support was amazing. If you wanted a crossbow that fired rainbows and kittens, someone had you covered if you had the coin. I primarily liked my games to look pretty. In fact, I still would bet that the mods for the remastered Skyrim are some of the best out there.

I could get lost strolling the landscapes. But I admit I haven’t played this game in quite some time. Mostly because its like cocaine. If you take a hit after quitting the stuff you’re bound to get hooked again. As much as I would like to sit down and burn several hundred hours on the game, I’m afraid being an adult will have to come first. Maybe I’ll see if I can find the time to give it another go. But someone may have to get me out of rehab after.
